Become a Patron of Minnaar Money
Throughout history, artists have depended upon patrons—collectors who did more than acquire individual works. They believed in the artist and made it possible for the work to continue.
The Sovereign Circle continues this tradition, bringing together collectors who choose to acquire Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade on a continuing basis and, in doing so, support its creation and circulation.
As a Sovereign Circle patron, you choose a monthly collecting commitment of 1 to 100 SV.
Each month, Steven Minnaar personally selects works totaling your chosen Sovereign Value and sends them to you with an invoice.
Keep them. Collect them. Give them away. Trade them with others. Or exchange them for other available works within the Minnaar Catalogue.
Over time, your monthly acquisitions can become something much larger: a personal Treasury built alongside the continuing development of Minnaar Money.
Choose Your Collecting Commitment
Every Sovereign Circle patron chooses the level of patronage that is right for them.
Your monthly commitment may be any amount from 1 to 100 SV.
You might begin with a single Sovereign each month, build your collection at 5 or 10 SV per month, or become a substantial patron at 25, 50, or 100 SV—or anywhere in between.

There are no membership levels or status distinctions. Every member of the Sovereign Circle is a patron.
Your commitment is personal and may be increased, decreased, or ended before a future month's acquisition.
Patron Privileges
Monthly Acquisitions
Each month, Steven personally selects Minnaars totaling your chosen Sovereign Value. Selections may include his original creations as well as works by other artists personally selected and designated as Minnaar Money.
Priority Access
Patrons receive advance notice and opportunities to acquire selected new works and releases.
Treasury Exchange
Keep your Minnaars or exchange eligible works for other available artworks of equal total Sovereign Value. Multiple Minnaars may also be combined toward a work of greater SV, under the established Catalogue exchange rules.
Private Invitations
Patrons may receive invitations to selected studio gatherings, previews, and other Sovereign Circle events.
Advance Sponsorship Opportunities
Patrons may receive early notice of selected original Minnaar designs available for limited-edition sponsorship, with opportunities to inquire about supporting their release.
A Relationship With the Artist
The Sovereign Circle is deliberately personal. It is not simply a subscription for receiving art. It is an ongoing relationship between artist and collector.
Access, invitations, and sponsorship opportunities are subject to availability.
A Collection That Keeps Evolving
A Sovereign Circle collection never has to remain as it was received.
Keep the works you love. Give them to friends or family. Trade them with others. Exchange them for new discoveries.
Smaller Minnaars may also be accumulated and combined toward available works of greater Sovereign Value.
Your collection can grow and change along with your interests, without requiring you to keep every work you acquire.

What Is Sovereign Value?
Every registered Minnaar is assigned a Sovereign Value (SV) by Steven Minnaar.
The reference unit is 1 SV = 1 troy ounce of silver.
Sovereign Value is not necessarily an artwork's original acquisition cost or conventional market value.
It represents the value Steven is personally willing to accept in exchange for the work and would willingly offer in other Minnaar Money to acquire it.
Through his artistic selection and designation, works he creates or discovers become part of the Minnaar Money collection, each carrying its own identity and exchange value.
SV is an artistic exchange designation, not a guarantee of cash or silver redemption.
How the Sovereign Circle Works
1. Choose Your Commitment
Select a monthly collecting commitment from 1 to 100 SV.
2. Receive Your Minnaars
Each month, Steven personally selects Minnaars totaling your chosen Sovereign Value and sends them directly to you.
3. Receive Your Invoice
An invoice accompanies each monthly acquisition.
4. Make the Collection Your Own
Keep, gift, trade, or exchange your Minnaars as your collection develops.
There is no long-term obligation. You may increase, decrease, or end your commitment before a future month's acquisition.
An Invitation From Steven
I created Minnaar Money because I believe art should have a life beyond simply being purchased and placed in a collection.
I want my work to be collected, given, saved, exchanged, and put into circulation—to pass from one person to another and develop a history of its own.
I also enjoy discovering interesting works by other artists and bringing them into the Minnaar Money collection through my own artistic selection and designation.
The Sovereign Circle offers collectors an opportunity to participate more deeply in this continuing work.
