Artists: Submit Your Art

Have Your Art Selected for Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade.

Your art deserves to be seen, collected, and enjoyed. Why not give it the opportunity to travel from one collection to another?

Artist and collector Steven Minnaar invites fellow artists to submit their work for consideration in the Minnaar Catalogue, a growing collection of art created to be collected, gifted, saved, and traded.

Through his own artistic selection and designation, Steven brings original creations and selected works by other artists together as Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade.

Each selected and registered work becomes part of an ongoing artistic experiment in collecting, value, and voluntary exchange, while retaining the identity and authorship of its original creator.

Guest Artist Selections

Artists are invited to submit up to three works at a time, as often as they wish, for consideration in the Minnaar Catalogue.

Submission is free.

Steven personally selects works according to his own artistic standards, choosing only those he would be proud to have created himself.

He may select one, several, or none of the works submitted. There is no limit to how many works by an individual artist may ultimately be accepted.

Artwork Requirements

Submissions are limited to unframed original works and limited editions on paper or canvas panel, measuring no more than 11 × 14 inches.

Stretched canvases are not accepted.

Eligible works may include:

  • Drawings and Paintings: Original works on paper or canvas panel.
  • Original Prints: Linocuts, woodcuts, etchings, and other original printmaking techniques on paper.
  • Photography: Original photographic prints and signed, limited-edition photographic works on paper.
  • Mixed Media: Original works using paper or canvas panel as the supporting surface.
  • Artcards: Original or signed limited-edition miniature artworks on paper.
  • Musical Artcards: Collectible paper-based artworks combining original visual art with access to original music.

All accepted works must be delivered in a clear, protective sleeve suitable for their size and format.

These requirements help keep the growing Minnaar Treasury practical to handle, protect, store, and exchange.

Musical Artcards — Art You Can Hear

Musical Artcards bring visual art and original music together in a collectible miniature format.

Each Musical Artcard measures 2.5 × 3.5 inches, combining visual artwork with a QR code or web link providing access to original music.

Musicians and visual artists may collaborate to create original or signed limited-edition Artcards, with both creators credited.

Musical Artcards are an open artistic format. Anyone may create, collect, sell, gift, and trade them independently.

Selected and registered Musical Artcards become Minnaar Money, with a Sovereign Value of 1 SV and the established exchange privileges.

Musicians: Collaborate With Visual Artists

Musicians make the music. Artists make the art. Together, they make Art You Can Trade.

Musicians are invited to commission or collaborate with visual artists to create original designs for their Musical Artcards.

Find collaborators through the free Minnaar Trading Post or our weekly Minnaar Money Meetups.

Artists and musicians arrange their own collaborations, including compensation, reproduction permissions, and music rights.

Both creators may receive credit on the completed Artcard and in its Catalogue listing.

Two artists. Two art forms. One collectible work of art.

How Selection Works

1. Submit Your Artwork

Submit photographs or previews of up to three eligible works for Steven's consideration.

There is no submission fee.

2. Artistic Selection

Steven personally reviews submissions and may select any number of works according to his artistic standards.

3. Contribute Your Accepted Work

For each selected work you choose to contribute, you provide:

  • The original physical artwork, presented in a clear protective sleeve.
  • One troy ounce of .999 fine silver.

The artwork and silver are required only after selection, if you choose to proceed.

Please do not send physical artwork or silver until your selection has been confirmed and delivery arrangements have been made.

Where to Get Silver: One-ounce silver rounds or other acceptable bullion may be purchased from local coin shops or bullion dealers. Search "bullion dealer near me" to find one nearby.

4. Catalogue Registration

Upon acceptance and receipt, the contributed work is designated and registered as Minnaar Money.

Each registered selection receives:

  • Permanent Catalogue Recognition: A lasting record identifying the artwork, its title, medium, original creator, and other relevant details, including a link to the artist's website.
  • Digital Certificate of Authenticity: Documentation identifying the physical artwork, its authorship, and its Minnaar Money registration.
  • Sovereign Value of 1 SV: An assigned exchange value within the Minnaar Money system.
  • Lasting Exchange Privileges: Eligibility for exchange alongside other registered Minnaars, subject to the established Catalogue rules.

For limited editions, each accepted physical impression or copy is individually registered. Other copies of the same edition do not automatically become Minnaar Money.

Submit Often. Build Your Presence.

There is no limit to how often you may submit artwork or how many of your works may be accepted.

Submit three works today, another three next week, or as often as you wish.

Each accepted work you choose to contribute becomes a permanent part of the Minnaar Catalogue.

Over time, you may build a growing body of selected works within Minnaar Money, each credited to you and linked to your website.

The more works you have accepted, the more opportunities collectors have to discover your art.

Art That Keeps Circulating

Unlike a conventional art sale, where a work may disappear into a private collection, a registered Minnaar remains part of the permanent Catalogue even as it changes hands.

Collectors may exchange eligible Minnaars for other available works of equal total Sovereign Value or combine several works toward something greater.

A painting might be exchanged for a photograph. Several original prints might be combined toward a larger work. A Musical Artcard might become part of an entirely different collection.

Your creations can find new collectors, develop their own histories, and continue their journey through the Minnaar Money community.

Their original authorship remains intact, while their Minnaar Money designation and registration provide an additional artistic identity and exchange privileges.

Create art. Share art. Trade art.

Meet Artists. Meet Collectors. Make Trades.

You're also invited to our weekly Minnaar Money Meetups, where artists, photographers, musicians, collectors, and friends gather to discover art, discuss their work, make trades, and explore collaborations.

Trade Your Other Art Independently

You don't have to be selected for Minnaar Money to begin trading your art.

Create your own art money, document your original works and limited editions with digital Certificates of Authenticity, and offer your creations for trade at values you choose.

The Minnaar Trading Post is free and open to everyone, whether or not their work is represented in the Minnaar Catalogue.

Accepted and contributed works become property of the Minnaar Treasury and may be exchanged with collectors. Original creators retain their authorship and copyright, grant permission for the accepted works to be displayed and promoted, and are responsible for obtaining the necessary rights and permissions for submitted material.

Catalogue exchange privileges apply to the individually registered physical artwork, require a valid Certificate of Authenticity, and are subject to the Catalogue's exchange rules and availability of works.

Sovereign Value is an artistic exchange designation, not a guarantee of cash market value or redemption in cash or silver.
