Minnaar Money celebrates the Sovereign Individual.
Through the Sponsor a Sovereign program, you are invited to commission an original linocut portrait of yourself, a loved one, or someone you admire.
Each portrait is created in the distinctive, simplified style of Steven Minnaar and becomes part of the permanent Minnaar Money collection.
Rather than producing a single private portrait, your sponsorship introduces a new artwork into circulation as a signed and numbered limited edition.
Your Portrait Commission
Each accepted sponsorship includes:
- An original linocut portrait created by Steven Minnaar.
- An approximately 8 × 10-inch image printed on 11 × 14-inch fine art paper.
- A signed and numbered limited edition of no more than 777 impressions.
- One signed and numbered impression for the sponsoring patron.
- Permanent inclusion in the Minnaar Catalogue's Living Sovereigns collection.
- A Sovereign Value of 10 SV assigned to each registered impression.
- A digital Certificate of Authenticity for the sponsor's registered impression.
- Recognition as the portrait's sponsor in the Minnaar Catalogue, if desired.
The original printing block remains with the artist, and additional impressions may be issued for collectors as part of the declared edition.

A Living Sovereign portrait is an opportunity to recognize the individuality, character, or accomplishments of someone important to you.
Commission a portrait of yourself, a spouse, parent, child, friend, mentor, or another individual whose likeness you would like to see interpreted in art.
Each portrait is created from a suitable reference photograph in Steven Minnaar's established simplified linocut style, emphasizing strong contours and a recognizable profile.
Subjects are accepted at the artist's discretion. Composition, interpretation, and final presentation remain under his artistic direction.
Appropriate consent for the use of the subject's likeness is required.

You are welcome to propose Minnaar Money, goods, services, or other mutually acceptable consideration in exchange for sponsorship.
Your sponsorship includes one signed and numbered impression of the completed portrait.
Additional impressions may be acquired separately at their established Sovereign Value of 10 SV.
Art That Continues to Circulate
Unlike a conventional portrait commission, your sponsorship does more than create a single work of art.
It introduces a new design into Minnaar Money.
The portrait becomes part of a growing collection of registered artworks that may be collected, gifted, and traded.
Each registered impression carries its own identity and Sovereign Value, with its Certificate of Authenticity providing a record of the artwork and its registration.

How to Sponsor a Sovereign
1. Choose Your Subject
Propose a portrait of yourself or someone you wish to honor.
2. Submit a Photograph
Provide a suitable reference photograph and arrange any necessary permissions.
3. Arrange Your Sponsorship
Sponsor the portrait with 10 ounces of silver, or propose another acceptable offer in trade.
4. Receive Your Minnaar
Steven creates the original linocut, produces your signed and numbered impression, and registers the artwork in the Minnaar Catalogue.
Your portrait then joins the Living Sovereigns collection, where additional impressions may become available to other collectors.

All commissions are subject to the artist's acceptance and creative discretion. Sponsorship includes one signed and numbered impression, not ownership of the original printing block or reproduction rights. Steven Minnaar retains copyright and the right to produce and distribute impressions within the declared edition limit.
